Tucked away off the beaten path, Swiss Tavern is a landmark gem worth finding. German immigrants, Joe and Ilse Engelke, purchased the building in 1966. After serving the neighborhood for many years, they sold the business, which became Canno's Swiss Tavern, a musicians' haunt, for over a decade. Three years ago, the Engelke's sons, Bob and Norm, along with Terry Ferguson, reacquired ownership.
