The American Legion Malverne Post 44 saw a great turnout for its annual clambake, which was held on Saturday, Aug. 7.
Dozens showed up to shuck clams, down beers and soda, munch on hamburgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob, and participate in contests for various door prizes.
Legion members, their families, friends and neighbors participated in the event, as did members of Valley Stream Boy Scout Pack and Troop 109, who helped serve food.
By the end of the event, there was barely room for coffee and cake, but plenty of energy left for chatting and sharing a few good laughs.
