Teams from George Washington School and West Hempstead Middle School competed together on March 1 in a practice ‘hackathon’ coding event at the middle school.

During a hackathon event, teams compete against one another in timed coding challenges.

“Students spent time sharpening their coding skills while enjoying some friendly competition among their peers,” the West Hempstead Union Free School District said in a statement.

The teams from both schools are set to put their skills to the test on March 11 at the middle school’s annual hackathon competition.
