Malverne firefighters helped to rescue a mother and two children from an overturned SUV on Cornwell Avenue in the village on Feb. 5.

A mother and two children suffered minor injuries after the sport utility vehicle they were in overturned after it struck a tree on Cornwell Avenue in Malverne on Feb. 5, Malverne firefghters said.Firefighters extricated everyone from the vehicle under the command of Chief Kevin Garvey. All three were taken to Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside for treatment.Malverne fire officials said the roadway closed for roughly an hour.
