The North Merrick Public Library has a new logo. At a Sept. 15 meeting, the Library Board of Trustees selected a design created by North Merrick resident Eileen McKenna from the 58 logo designs that were submitted to the library by 23 different people. McKenna is a graphic designer and her work can be found on the Internet at www.eileenmckenna.com..

The library's appeal for a logo was publicized in the Merrick Herald and other local outlets, flyers and on the library's Web site, beginning July 6, with a final submission deadline of Aug. 31.
