The North Bellmore Fire Department’s drill team, the Rinky Dinks, took home first place at the 2019 Nassau County Drill competition on July 13. The race was hosted by the North Merrick Stump Jumpers at the Four Towns Training Center on Merrick Road.
Twelve teams from across Nassau County ran eight drill contests during the competition: three-man ladder, motor hook & ladder Class B and C, motor hose Class B and C, efficiency, motor pump and bucket brigade.
In the end, the Rinky Dinks were victorious, scoring a total of 26 points. The Stump Jumpers came in second with 19 points, followed by the West Hempstead Westerners and Port Washington Road Runners who tied for third, scoring 12 points each.
