Music fans gathered at Eisenhower Park for a special evening honoring the life and legacy of Long Island singer-songwriter Harry Chapin as part of Nassau County’s Free Summer Concert Series.

The July 16 concert featured Harry Chapin Day performers Corey Rieman and The Dilemma Band, along with Scarborough Fair, a Simon & Garfunkel tribute act. Families and friends filled the park with lawn chairs and blankets, enjoying a night of classic folk and soft rock under the summer sky.

The annual tribute celebrated Chapin’s enduring impact on music and his humanitarian legacy. Best known for hits including “Cat’s in the Cradle” and “Taxi,” Chapin, a Huntington native, was also a passionate advocate in the fight against hunger, helping to found organizations dedicated to ending food insecurity.

The free concert was presented by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman as part of the county’s summer entertainment series, which brings live music to Eisenhower Park throughout the season.
