Girl Scout Troop 210 recently held a Women’s Empowerment Career Fair called “LEADHERS” at the Oyster Bay Community Center to inspire young girls.
The March 14 event was led by Scouts Cecilia Pinero, Layla Zahirovic, and Savannah Ross. The event included a panel of women leaders in the fields of engineering, finance, marketing, media, education, entrepreneurship, healthcare, law, politics, and community service. Town Councilwoman Vicki Walsh and Legislator Samantha Goetz were among the community leaders who attended the event.
The Girl Scouts planned every detail, including planning it to coincide with Women’s History Month. They created a space to explore, engage, and empower girls to feel confident about their futures.
