Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace will open its newest Long Island location in Greenvale on Aug. 14, bringing approximately 250 new jobs to Nassau County’s North Shore and expanding its presence in the region.

The new store, located at 130 Wheatley Plaza, will officially open following an 11 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Greenvale location is part of the company’s continued expansion across the Northeast, with Uncle Giuseppe’s planning to hire approximately 1,000 employees over the next 12 months as it adds new stores in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The Greenvale marketplace will serve communities throughout the North Shore, including Glen Cove, Greenvale, Roslyn, Old Westbury, Brookville, Oyster Bay and Locust Valley.

The company is hiring both full-time and part-time employees for positions across every department, including deli, meat, seafood, bakery, produce, prepared foods, grocery, cashiering, customer service and management. Uncle Giuseppe’s is also seeking experienced food professionals, including bakers, bread makers, cake decorators, butchers, seafood specialists, pizza makers, pasta makers, mozzarella makers, baristas and chocolatiers.

“Our team members are the heart and soul of every Uncle Giuseppe’s,” CEO and co-founder Carl DelPrete said in a statement. “We are a company that believes in made fresh, sold fresh every day in every store, and it takes hardworking, dedicated people who care about the food and care about the customers. We are always looking for the best people to join the team, become part of the Uncle G family, work hard, learn, grow, and be part of something special.”

According to the company, eligible employees receive benefits that include a 401(k) plan with a company match and a 25% employee discount. Select positions, including experienced deli specialists, offer wages of up to $25 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Applicants can participate in walk-in interviews at the on-site hiring trailer at the Greenvale location on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or apply online through the company’s careers page.

The Greenvale store will become Uncle Giuseppe’s 13th location. The family-owned specialty grocer currently operates 12 stores across New York and New Jersey and recently opened a location in Bohemia. A second new store is planned to open in Levittown later this year as the company continues its expansion while maintaining its focus on fresh, prepared foods and Italian specialty products.
