Last week, St. Agnes Cathedral held its annual blessing of the animals.
People from Rockville Centre and surrounding areas came to the cathedral to have their pets — furry, feathered and more — blessed.
The blessing is held to honor St. Francis of Assisi, who famously loved all animals. The blessing was held on Oct. 4, which is the feast day for St. Francis.
