Chuck Joyce hospitalized after Long Beach Road accident

Rockville Centre Deputy Mayor Chuck Joyce was hospitalized last night after being hit by a car on Long Beach Road.

Joyce, a paramedic with the Rockville Centre Fire Department, was directing traffic after responding to a call to a pizzeria on North Long Beach Road last night, when a slow-moving SUV hit him from behind, said Village Spokesman Jeff Kluewer.

He was brought to the hospital overnight for testing and observation, and was said to be in stable condition. According to Kluewer, Joyce was resting comfortably.
