Frank’s Steaks is a holiday destination

Frank’s Steaks in Rockville Centre has once again transformed its restaurant into a mesmerizing holiday destination with an enchanting display full of fun and festive decorations and designs.

Voted the best dining experience, best steakhouse, best fine dining, best business lunch, and best dessert in the 2023 Long Choice Awards, Frank’s Steaks is well known throughout Nassau County for providing savory, tender cuts of steak.

In order to combine its traditional dining experience with the wonder and joy of the season, Chris Meyer and John Casper of Frank’s Steaks, commissioned interior designer Michael Delahanty and assistant Colin O’Leary to infuse the wonder and joy of Christmas into the restaurant.

Delahanty said that he has been decorating the establishment for five years—the last three of which, he performed with the help of O’Leary’s artistic talent.

From the moment that patrons walk into the room, they are overcome with a sense of holiday magic. Each of the rooms has its own separate theme, beginning with the “North Pole Lounge,” where dozens of ornaments dangle overhead to create the feeling that you’re standing underneath a Christmas tree.

Walking through the archways, towards the “Toy Shop,” people can stop and admire some cherished childhood memories including a display filled with Hess Trucks and other holiday toys. On the opposite wall is “Candy Cane Lane,” a corner filled with all sorts of different sweets. And in the main dining room, a stunning chandelier was added to give an extra Yuletide glow. This year, they even added a corner dedicated to the Hanukkah holiday in recognition of its diverse community.

O’Leary said that in order to get everything done in time, he and Delahanty needed to work overnights and during the off-hours before the restaurant opened.

“It was the only way to do it all,” he explained.

It required more than 80 hours of work in order to put up the more than 75,000 lights and decorations that fill the space.

But what makes the holiday display truly unique is that it continues to grow throughout the season, with new holiday decorations added every night.

Meyer, the general manager and owner of Frank’s Steaks, said that this year he also invited back The Santa Babies, a singing group from Levittown, to regale diners with a performance of some classic holiday favorites.

“I saw them on social media and this is the third consecutive year that they’ve come to perform,” Meyer said.

He said both performances, on Thursday, Dec. 14 and Thursday, Dec. 21, have already been booked up in advance.

The menu has also received a festive makeover this year with the addition of some holiday-themed dishes, complete with seasonal garnishes and an artistic flair. The establishment is also the only one on the south shore of Long Island with a level 2 sommelier.

Frank’s Steaks has truly established itself as a hub of seasonal cheer, for young and old alike, to come and enjoy a memorable holiday experience.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” Meyers said. “As soon as customers walk through the door they say, ‘Wow.’ It makes it all worth it.”
