Members of the Rockville Centre Lions Club gathered recently to celebrate one of their own receiving a major legal community honor during the Criminal Courts Bar Association of Nassau County Annual Dinner Dance, held at The Fox Hollow in Woodbury.
More than 200 attorneys, judges, public officials and guests attended the Feb. 11 event, which honored longtime Lion and jurist Anthony W. Paradiso with the prestigious Norman F. Lent Memorial Award, given to individuals who exemplify integrity, dedication to justice and outstanding service to the legal profession and community.
The Norman F. Lent Memorial Award is considered one of the Criminal Courts Bar Association’s highest honors and is presented annually to a member of the legal community whose career reflects excellence in jurisprudence and dedication to public good.
The award was formally presented by association president Chris Graziano, who highlighted Paradiso’s commitment to fairness, professionalism and public service throughout his career. Speakers emphasized not only his contributions within the courtroom, but also his involvement in civic and charitable organizations — including his longstanding role with the Rockville Centre Lions Club.
Club members attended in strong support, noting the recognition reflects both Paradiso’s legal accomplishments and his community leadership. Lions’ representatives said the evening underscored the organization’s mission of service, leadership and volunteerism, values they believe Paradiso consistently demonstrates.
For the Rockville Centre Lions, the night served as both a celebration and a point of pride, as they watched a fellow member honored before peers, colleagues and community leaders across Nassau County.
