Middle school students and staff say 'thanks'

Posted

Americans are grateful for the safety and comforts that we share as a nation. Throughout the history of the United States, the men and women of the country's armed forces have risked, and in too many cases, given their lives to protect that safety and comfort. The students and staff at South Side Middle School discussed the values and ideals that those service men and women continuously work to protect, and learned about the history of displaying the yellow ribbon.

The school's larger-than-life yellow ribbon is proudly displayed in the school's lobby with thanks and gratefulness. Pictured from left, with it, are security guard Marc Delman; 8th grade Social Studies teacher Mike Flynn; security guard Andre Hylton; Art teacher Christy Silecchia; Assistant Principal Rose Cammarata; Technology teacher Brian Kerr and Karen Campbell, 6th grade Language Arts teacher.
