Families filled the Village Green for the opening night of the Village of Rockville Centre and Rockville Centre Chamber of Commerce’s “Music on the Green” summer concert series, turning Maple Avenue into a relaxed evening gathering spot for live music, food and community fun.

The two-hour event on June 25 drew residents of all ages who spread out blankets and lawn chairs beneath the trees as the series officially kicked off its summer run. Warm weather and a festive atmosphere helped set the tone for what organizers say is intended to be a family-friendly tradition highlighting local entertainment and community connection.

The first performance of the series featured Those Damn Neighbors, who delivered an energetic set that engaged the crowd and set the stage for the summer lineup.

Organizers noted the concert series also includes local dining discounts and food delivery options, encouraging residents to support area businesses while enjoying the outdoor performances.

The “Music on the Green” series continues July 30 with The Basement, followed by the final scheduled performance on Aug. 27, with the band to be announced.

Launched as a collaboration between the village and chamber, the free summer concert series is designed to activate the Village Green as a central gathering space during the warmer months. The early evening performances encourage families to bring blankets and chairs while enjoying live music in a casual outdoor setting, while also supporting nearby restaurants and merchants through concert-night promotions.
