Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis is hosting two community events in Rockville Centre this month to support local residents.
On April 19, Davis will hold a food drive outside the Associated Supermarket, 160 N. Long Beach Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations will benefit local pantries serving communities across Nassau County’s 1st Legislative District.
“Far too often, food insecurity is a silent epidemic,” Davis said. “We hope residents will join us to help fight hunger.”
The following weekend, on April 25, Davis will host his office’s third annual shredding event at the Rockville Centre Public Library, 221 N. Village Avenue, from 1 to 3 p.m. Residents can bring up to 10 black garbage bags or bankers’ boxes of unwanted papers for secure, environmentally friendly disposal.
During the event, Davis will also accept donations of new or gently used baby clothes, small books, blankets, hats, shoes, and soft toys for the BackYard Players & Friends’ “Love Nana” project.
“All across Nassau County, our neighbors are catching up on their spring cleaning,” Davis said. “Please join us with your unwanted papers and a donation to support the Love Nana initiative.”
