South Side Cyclones finish victorious over neighborhood rivals Lynbrook

Since this year’s homecoming celebration on September 23 was rained out, the district decided to host a smaller-scale “makeup parade” for students at South Side High School.

The mascot led the parade followed by the pep band, cheerleaders, and RVC Titans football team. Behind them were Rockville Centre Fire Department firetrucks that carried members of the football team as they marched from the parking lot, around the colonnade, and ended at the football field.

In the evening, as part of its Senior Night celebrations, on October 13, South Side High School recognized senior students on the varsity football and cheerleading teams before the start of the big game.

The South Side Cyclones once again dominated on the field against their cross-town rivals the Lynbrook Owls, to win the game 33-20. The team was able to maintain a perfect 6-0 record before the game on Friday, October 20, where they lost on the road at Plainedge High School 16-21.
