Seventh-grade students at South Side Middle School stepped into the spotlight in their social studies classes last week, taking part in this year’s “Shark Tank”-inspired challenge.
Working in groups, students showcased creativity and entrepreneurial thinking as they presented innovative business ideas to a panel of judges.
The atmosphere was lively and engaging, with several presentations even sparking competitive bidding among the “sharks,” who were eager to invest in the students’ ideas.
The challenge proved to be a resounding success, as nearly every group received at least one investment offer—an indication of both the strength of their concepts and their ability to think like future business leaders.
The event was made possible by the commitment of teachers and administrators, who served as “shark” judges. By asking probing questions and evaluating each proposal, they created a realistic and dynamic experience for students.
The collaboration between staff and seventh-grade participants highlighted both the students’ talents and the school’s commitment to fostering real-world skills in the classroom.
