St. Marks turns itself orange

Posted

How do you turn a green lawn orange? The members of St. Mark’s church in Rockville Centre would tell you that it’s easy: you only have to order and unload about 8,000 pumpkins. St. Mark’s annual Pumpkin Patch opened in late September, inviting neighbors to enjoy the fall weather and bring children to frolic on the lawn.

Come for pumpkins, gourds, farm-fresh apples, hay, mums, a ride in a wagon, story time, guess the huge pumpkin’s weight and more. On Oct. 25, St. Mark’s will host its children’s costume parade and the epic battle between Spider Man and The Green Goblin. There will be refreshments available, as well as pumpkin painting and games.
