Winter warmth

Lily Schoen and Elizabeth Handsman ran a community coat drive in December, a week before Christmas. Every day, they picked up and collected coats that were dropped off at a designated box in the Recreation Center’s lobby. Thanks to the generosity of the residents of Rockville Centre, they collected over 300 coats and donated them to the Economic Opportunity Council in Hempstead, a Nassau County outreach to those in need.
