A fatal house fire occurred on Stanford Court in Wantagh on April 6 according to police.
At around 8 p.m. on April 6, officers responded to a 911 call for a house fire at 1 Stanford Court. Police arrived to a fire, and fire departments from Wantagh, Seaford, Bethpage and North Bellmore responded to extinguish the blaze.
A woman identified as Wendy Bonilla, 69, was removed from the residence and transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead at around 9:12 p.m. by hospital staff.
Detectives and fire marshals were on the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
