Celia Kraker, 95, lives in her Sea Cliff home with two of her daughters, Nancy and Maryann, where they have been on lockdown since the Covid-19 pandemic hit. Her daughters are taking no chances when it comes to possibly exposing their mother to the virus, making it so that Celia’s other daughter, Diane Carson, cannot come to visit, as she is a staffer at Glen Cove Hospital.

Determined to put a smile on their mother’s face, Carson and her sisters called a few family friends to drive by and honk their horns to mark Celia’s 95th birthday on April 25. Starting at 3 p.m., a 25-car parade, left by a vintage truck, drove by, as Celia’s friends and family loudly expressed how much they love and appreciate her.

“I was grateful to be a part of a celebration of love, friendship and Sea Cliff community,” said Teri Moschetta, who drove in the parade. “It felt great to make some noise and rise above the anxiety of Covid-19.
