Car accident in Roosevelt kills Uniondale man, hospitalizes two adults and 9-year-old girl

Nassau County Police detectives responded to the scene of a fatal single-car crash on July 11, in Roosevelt that killed the driver. Three other people who were in the vehicle with the driver at the time of the crash sustained serious injuries and are hospitalized. 

At about 7:44 p.m., detectives say that Alberto Ayala, 37, of Uniondale, was driving a 2021 Chrysler sedan heading southbound on Brookside Avenue at the intersection of West Centennial Avenue when he struck a utility pole. Ayala was transported to a local hospital, but was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

The vehicle was also occupied by a 36-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man and a 9-year-old girl, all of whom were transported to hospitals to be evaluated and treated for their physical injuries. 

The Homicide Squad of the Nassau County Police Department are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
