A 25-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning after the car he was driving crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle in Uniondale, according to Nassau County police.
Police said the crash occurred about 10:42 a.m. at the intersection of Hempstead Turnpike and Glen Curtiss Boulevard.
According to detectives, the 25-year-old was driving a 2001 Toyota sedan eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike when the vehicle crossed into the westbound lanes and struck a 2006 BMW.
The BMW was driven by a 34-year-old man, who, along with his 34-year-old female passenger, was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, police said.
The Toyota driver was also taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a physician, according to police.
No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
