In keeping with its permanent exhibit, "Saltwater Stories" the Long Island ChildrenТs Museum hosted a sea-themed New Year's Eve bash, inviting families to three countdown ball drops, starting at noon, as well as crafts and confetti-filled fun to УO-FISH-ally" ring in the new year before their bedtime. Above, kids jumped for joy as confetti rained down during one of the Times Square-style countdowns.
Beyond the party, families explored exhibits like “Feasts for Beasts”, where children learned how animals eat by comparing the teeth and tongues of herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. Other exhibits such as the sock skating rink, a temporary exhibit make its final appearance on Sunday celebrating with ice cream.
The museum remained open throughout the holiday week, offering a chance for children to play, learn and burn off energy indoors.
