Health Empowerment Alliance of Long Island has launched a new advertising campaign on NICE buses throughout Nassau County to connect Medicaid members with food, housing, transportation and other social care services.
The campaign is intended to reach Medicaid members as they travel throughout the county and encourage them to complete a brief screening to determine whether they qualify for services available at no cost to eligible residents.
HEALI estimates that about 240,000 Medicaid members across Long Island may qualify for assistance.
The NICE bus campaign is part of HEALI’s broader effort to screen Medicaid members throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties and connect those who qualify with services addressing health-related social needs.
The bus advertisements are one component of HEALI’s community outreach. Other efforts include digital and print advertising, multilingual outreach, community events and opportunities for residents to complete screenings in person.
The initiative focuses on connecting eligible residents with assistance for needs that can affect their health and quality of life, including access to food, stable housing and transportation to medical appointments.
Medicaid members can complete an online screening at healiny.org. Information about upcoming community events opportunities is available at healiny.org/community-events.
