Uniondale students get back in the classrooms for the new school year

Posted

Students across the Uniondale School District returned to classrooms for the start of a new school year on Sept. 1, reuniting with classmates, teachers and staff after summer break.

The first day brought students back to their routines as they met teachers, settled into their new classrooms and prepared for another year of academics, extracurricular activities and athletics.

Parents and guardians looking to become more involved in their children’s schools can join their school’s Parent Teacher Association, which provides opportunities to participate in school activities, support programs and connect with other families and educators.

Community members can also attend Uniondale Board of Education meetings throughout the school year to learn about district initiatives, upcoming programs and other issues affecting the schools. Board meetings are open to the public, and meeting dates, times and locations are available through the district. The next board meeting for public comment is on Sept. 29 at Uniondale High School. More information can be found on the district’s website at uniondaleschools.org.
