Nassau County Legislator Viviana Russell, from Westbury, who represents part of Uniondale partnered with the Nassau County Police Department’s Office of Community Affairs and the county’s Department of Traffic Safety to provide free child car seat safety checks at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale on April 29.
Certified technicians ensured car seats were properly installed and provided families with guidance aimed at maximizing child passenger safety. Uniondale Legislator Olena Nicks will host a car seat safety inspection at the Uniondale Library on June 24.
“As a mother and a grandmother, ensuring the safety of our families, especially our youngest, is always close to my heart,” Legislator Russell said. “I am so glad that this opportunity was well received by the community and that our neighbors are now driving with added peace of mind.
