An oil spill has closed the southbound lanes of the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway at Exit 2, between Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road, Nassau police said Friday.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays while crews work to clean up the spill. It was not immediately clear how long the roadway would remain closed.
