The West Hempstead community was taken on a magic carpet ride by the seventh and eighth grade drama club. Drama 7/8 put on a spectacular performance of Disney’s Aladdin Jr. on Nov. 20 and 21 in the West Hempstead Secondary School Auditorium.
Aladdin Jr. is based on the 1992 Academy Award-winning animated film “Aladdin” and the 2014 hit Broadway show. It tells the story of Aladdin, who discovers a magic lamp and a Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to impress the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that tests his will and moral character.
The performance included the songs “Arabian Nights,” “Friend Like Me”, “Prince Ali”, and “A Whole New World.”
