Malverne Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Easter event, the ‘Bunny Hop and Shop,’ the morning of April 4. The event had fun events for children and families, including face painting and balloon animals. Kids also took pictures with the Easter Bunny.

The event also had a raffle, with gift baskets donated by local businesses that sponsored the event for the winners. Baskets were donated by Tori T’s Pizzeria, Marcucc For Hair, Cornerstone Dental, Phoenix Family Chiropractic, and others.

Chamber of Commerce President Elizabeth Krull has gratitude for the community participation that the event inspires, and hopes the village feels the same. “This event is special,” she said. “We hope the community appreciates that we do this for them.”

Event participants were invited to shop at all participating businesses along Hempstead Avenue, Church Street, and Broadway, in the immediate area of Reese Memorial Park by Malverne’s LIRR station.

Krull takes pride in hosting the Bunny Hop every year. “This event is one of our most popular of the year, families from Malverne and even surrounding towns come out to celebrate,” she said. “They’re here for the holiday, but they’re also here to celebrate the community and all of our local businesses.”
