Crossroads Farm hosts annual Holiday Makers Market

Crossroads Farm at Grossmann’s kicked off its Holiday Makers Market this past weekend.

“We have about 10 vendors selling different locally made things,” Michael D’Angelo, farm operations manager, said.

Jewelry, baked goods, soaps, candles, décor, clothes, and other handmade goods are available for purchase from local artisans and craftspeople at the market. The farm is also selling Christmas trees.

“We just want to create the opportunity for people to buy their Christmas or holiday presents locally and keep your money local,” D’Angelo said. “It’s so convenient for us to buy stuff online and get it shipped to our house. This is more of a community spirit, to bring everybody together.”

The market began in 2020 with help from Crossroads Farm volunteer Annie Sunshine. “We started it during COVID,” she said. “We just wanted someplace for people to go, shop, and buy things that were handmade, really unique, and support the local community.”

During the market there are workshops to take part in. On Saturday, attendees enjoyed learning about how to make and decorate a wreath. On Dec. 13 there will be a gingerbread house workshop.

The workshops are $35 a person but throughout the market there will be a free nature crafting table available to children. With access to materials made on the farm, children can release their creativity using natural, environmentally friendly supplies.

Attendees can also eat from the available food trucks and enjoy live music.

The Holiday Makers Market will be open this weekend, Dec. 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
