Crossroads Farm at Grossman’s brought its harvest from the fields to the dinner table Sept. 17 for its 16th annual Farm-to-Table Benefit Dinner, bringing over 200 community members together for an evening of locally sourced food, live music and fundraising.
The annual dinner, the nonprofit farm’s largest fundraiser of the year, was held during the heart of harvest season and highlighted the food grown at Crossroads Farm and the community partnerships that support its operations.
Chef Antonio Bove of Uva Rossa Taverna in Malverne prepared dishes using ingredients grown at the farm, while Pizza Passeggio served fresh brick-oven pizza during cocktail hour using farm-grown produce and herbs. Dinner options included salmon, steak and a vegetarian entrée, followed by coffee and gelato.
Guests also had a selection of wines, local craft beers and nonalcoholic beverages and enjoyed live music throughout the evening. A self-guided tour offered attendees an opportunity to explore the farm and learn more about its operations.
The event also highlighted Crossroads Farm’s programs and partnerships throughout Malverne, Nassau County and Long Island.
Nassau County Comptroller, Elaine Phillips, was honored by the farm for her contributions.
Raffles and other fundraising activities provided additional support for the nonprofit farm, helping fund its operations and community programs while celebrating another growing season in Malverne.
