The Malverne Chamber of Commerce brought residents and visitors together Oct. 3 for the village’s annual Fall Festival and Car Show, featuring classic cars, live entertainment, children’s activities and local businesses.

The free festival ran from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the 33rd annual classic car show filling Hempstead Avenue with a variety of vehicles. A DJ provided music throughout the event, while the 10-piece band Vinyl Revival performed on Church Street.

Families also had plenty to do throughout the afternoon. A kids’ fun zone featured nine inflatables, including a 46-foot Halloween-themed obstacle course, a 27-foot rock wall and slide, a wrecking ball and a sweeper. Activities were also available for younger children.

New this year was a touch-a-truck attraction, which gave children and families an up-close look at local municipal and emergency vehicles, including a fire truck, police car and dump truck.

The festival also highlighted Malverne businesses and community organizations. Food and beverages were available from local vendors, including Antonio’s Italian American Deli and Harvest House Tavern, while the Malverne Boy Scout troop also participated.

This year marked the first time the Malverne Chamber independently took the reins of the longtime village tradition.
