Families at Maurice W. Downing Primary School got to meet new principal Joseph Keuhn on Aug. 22 during a playdate for incoming kindergarteners.

The kids had fun at the annual Kindergarten Welcome Playdate and met with their future classmates, according to a press release. The “Junior Mules” played together at Downing’s playground and got to connect with their new peers.

The families of the children got the chance to meet Keuhn, also a newcomer to the school. Keuhn was previously the assistant principal of Howard T. Herber Middle School, now replacing Erik Walker, who held the position for two years.

Parents met with other leaders from the district during the playdate, getting the chance to connect with them and other families from Malverne.
