Seven Malverne school district educators and administrators were recognized for receiving tenure during the Board of Education’s Sept. 8 meeting.
Board members, district administrators, colleagues and family members gathered to recognize the educators as they reached the professional milestone. The seven recipients work in positions across the district, ranging from classroom instruction and student support to school and district administration.
Those receiving tenure were Jacinta Bowman, library media specialist; Allison Lyons, teacher assistant; Colleen Moran, elementary teacher; Theresa Casesi, mathematics teacher; Randie Bauman-Renna, school social worker; Dr. Kesha Bascombe, principal of Malverne High School; and Dr. Vincent Romano, assistant superintendent for educational services.
The recognition highlighted the recipients’ work with students and their contributions to programs and services throughout the Malverne school district.
The group represents several areas of the district’s educational program, including elementary and secondary education, mathematics, library services, social work and administration.
Tenure is granted by a school board following an educator or administrator’s required probationary period and the district’s evaluation of their performance.
The Sept. 8 ceremony gave board members and district officials an opportunity to recognize the seven recipients alongside their colleagues, family members and friends as they marked the milestone in their careers with the Malverne school district.
