A team from the Bellmore Striders running club placed fifth out of 144 teams at the 27th annual Bethpage Ocean to Sound Relay, a 50-mile race, on Sept. 23. Runners from the club also took first place in the Male Masters Division.

Dozens of walkers recently took part in the annual Bellmore-Merrick Relay for Life, a walk-a-thon fundraiser that raises money to support the American Cancer Society’s research, education and advocacy efforts.
The event was held at Merrick Road Park, next to the Norman J. Levy Park and Preserve.
