Overcast A Stars & Stripes salute in East Rockaway
Village hosts festival, fun, fireworks
East Rockaway hosted its annual Stars & Stripes Festival under sunny skies last weekend.
The festival, a three-day event, ran from June 30 through July 1. Newton Shows provided rides, attractions, games and food. People of all ages were able to enjoy the warm weather and great food, along with the attractions and fantastic live entertainment.
The finale of the festival took place Friday evening. The turnout was incredible —with thousands of residents from East Rockaway and its neighboring communities. Jimmy and the Parrots, a Jimmy Buffet cover band, provided excellent live entertainment, leading up to the grand finale — a waterfront fireworks display. World famous fireworks company, Pyrotechno, put on a spectacular show on the canal for all those who attended.
The festival was a great way to kick-off the Independence Day weekend and was enjoyed by all.
