Q: What are you most proud of on your time on the board?
I think the hard work that the board has done. We put in so many hours it’s like a part-time job. One of the major accomplishments is that we finished the rec center [on James Street] which was sitting dormant. I’ve talked to hundreds of residents in the last month. We still have a lot of work to do; we are still getting things in place. Everything takes so long to do.
We’ve already purchased the new playground equipment for Memorial Park, and we’re accepting bids to have it installed.
I am proud of the board’s property maintenance law [where the village cleans up properties, when necessary, where absentee landlords may have left the homes in disrepair, or not maintained properly.] The bill for the work shows up on their tax bill.
