They marched from Hewlett Elementary School on Broadway to East Rockaway Avenue and turned onto the Hewlett High campus during the annual Homecoming parade last Saturday.
A familiar face served as the parade’s grand marshal: Thomas Russo, who retired in June as principal of the high school. It was an opportunity to say good bye to his students.
And what a send off it was as the Hewlett Bulldogs bowled over Valley Stream South 47-12 in the football game.
