Marchers and football team star in Lawrence’s Homecoming

From the school marching band to cheerleaders and students from all the district’s schools, Lawrence’s Homecoming parade on Sept. 15 was as much a success as its football team has been through the first two games of the season.

The parade stepped off on Lawrence Avenue at the Long Island Rail Road station in Lawrence and proceeded down Central and Washington avenues, then to Peninsula Boulevard and ended on the high school football field.

This year’s parade grand marshal was science teacher and the district coordinator of science, Norman Deitch, who also serves as the senior class advisor.

Lawrence’s varsity football squad then defeated Lynbrook 54–7 for a 2-0 start to the season.
