South Hempstead man who was robbed dies from head injuries

A man who was allgedly robbed in South Hempstead and sustained head injuries on Sept. 19, died three days later, Nassau County police said.

Identified as Justin Thomas, 30, from South Hempstead, was found by police after  he said he  was robbed near the intersection of May Street and Grand Avenue at 5:27 a.m., that Sunday. 

Thomas was taken to to a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition before dying on Sept. 22, police said.

The investigation is contunuing. Police are asking anyone with information regarding the  incident to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-(800) 244-8477 or call 911. All calls are confidential.
