Classic cars and community spirit filled the parking lot of the Island Park Public Library on Sept. 19 as the library hosted its annual car show.

The event brought car enthusiasts and community members together to admire a variety of vehicles outside the library. The show welcomed all makes and models, including cars and trucks, both new and old, according to the library.

The car show has become one of the library’s annual community events, offering residents an opportunity to gather outside the library and share an interest in automobiles. The library’s annual report highlights the car show among its recurring events.

The event was held in the library’s parking lot at 176 Long Beach Road, continuing the library’s efforts to offer programming and activities that extend beyond its traditional role as a place to borrow books and access resources.

The Island Park Public Library serves a community of nearly 9,000 residents and has been part of the community since 1938, when 60 residents formed an association library. The library received its provisional charter in 1939 and its absolute charter in 1958.

Today, the library offers a variety of programs and services for residents of all ages, with community events such as the car show providing opportunities for neighbors to gather and enjoy activities together.
