Police converged on an Oceanside apartment building located on Tilrose Avenue where residents were forced out due to a smoke condition that had emerged on Thursday night.
The Oceanside Fire Department determined the source of the smoke to be a malfunctioning oil burner.
The Red Cross was notified and stepped in to assist residents impacted by the incident. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
