It was a tearjerker for a lot of reasons. The football game kicked off when 11-year-old Alana Ambrosecchia surprised her brother and the crowd with a rousing rendition of God Bless America. Alana is blind, and her brother Michael, #7 and captain of the Oceanside Sailors Varsity football team had no idea she would be singing. He was the first to break out in tears of joy. From that auspicious start the team went on to roust Massapequa. The tears of joy again flowed, as the team was able to say for the first time since the 1950’s that they are undefeated.
