Mostly Cloudy Oceanside community groups shine at volunteer fair

Local groups, like Oceanside Kiwanis club, came together to unite the community.
Oceanside Chamber board member Joe Ponte, Oceanside Library director Chris Marra and Oceanside Kiwanis President Michael D’Ambrosio enjoyed the fun
Oceanside Knights of Columbus, Oceanside’s catholic brotherhood came by to show all the positives about the organization
Oceanside SAFE Coalition, a drug use prevention and awareness organization founded in Oceanside welcomed interested volunteers
Book Fairies, a non-profit organization in Freeport which sources and redistributes books to under-resourced communities on Long Island and internationally set up a table and welcomed those interested
It was a packed house at the Oceanside Library as local community groups and non-profit organizations came by on Feb. 4 to show what their groups are all about and offer volunteer opportunities. Local politicians also stopped by to accept volunteers. Representatives of the non-profit organizations were in attendance with educational flyers and volunteer sign-up sheets in the main area of the library. Attendees of all ages were welcomed and got a chance to win free gift cards.
