Police units rescued two people who were stuck in the water in Oceanside on Sunday.
According to the Nassau County Police Department, units responded to a radio assignment for two teens who were stranded in the marsh on their jet skis near Parsonage Cove at 7:17 p.m. Emergency services units, the Marine Bureau, Nassau County Aviation, the Oceanside Fire Department and officers from the Fourth Precinct responded to the call.
A 17-year-old male was close to the shore and was assisted by a civilian before the police arrived. Another male, also 17, was further into the marsh and was rescued by a helicopter before being transported to a safe location.
No one was hurt in the ordeal, and police have not released the names of those involved.
