Overcast Oceanside School Five opens ‘Starbooks Café’

Last year, School Five’s student council raised money for a new school store. On Jan. 19, they celebrated the store’s grand opening, selling fun school supplies and gadgets.
As part of the celebration, the students also organized and staffed a “Starbooks Cafe,” an idea suggested by sixth grader Michaela Mazun during the recent student council election process.
All students in grades 1 through 6 were invited to browse the store and enjoy the cafe’s offerings that included a variety of quick breakfast foods and hot cocoa with whipped cream and sprinkles. The event was a huge success and will now occur monthly.
