Rock icon Billy Joel announced a $1 million contribution to the Long Island High School for the Arts last week, with the condition that Nassau BOCES keep the school open for another three years.

Nassau BOCES announced at its meeting last week that rock icon Billy Joel would pledge $1 million from The Joel Foundation to help save the Long Island High School for the Arts in Syosset, which has been threatened with closure over the past year due to dwindling enrollment. more
