The Nassau County Police Department is seeking information about the robbery of a West Hempstead Bank last month.
A black man said to be in his 40s entered the Roslyn Savings Bank at 50 Hempstead Turnpike around 12:55 p.m. on Nov. 14, approached the teller and passed a demand note accompanied by verbal demands: he used the threat of a gun in both. Upon receiving money from the teller, the man fled in an unknown direction.
Police believe the same man also robbed a Roslyn Savings Bank in Freeport on Nov. 22. He is described as dark skinned, clean shaven, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was seen wearing a black hat and a black hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS (8477) or Nassau County’s robbery squad at (516) 573-8044. All callers remain anonymous. There is a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to arrest.
